No News on Shirt Sponsor - Ipswich Town News
Town say that no decision has yet been made on whether the TXU Energi name will continue to appear on the club's shirts next season. TXU's UK retail operation was recently bought by Powergen who will not be using the TXU name after April 2003.
The club are in discussions with Powergen over this and other issues, and a Town spokesperson told TWTD that confirmation regarding the precise nature of next season's shirt sponsorship could be some while off: "We are not expecting a decision in the near future."
Powergen have said they will honour the sponsorship signed by TXU in 2001 and which runs until the end of the 2004/05 season.
