Stockwell Trains with Colchester - Ipswich Town News

Former Town stalwart Mick Stockwell is training with Colchester while he weighs up where he should continue his distinguished career. Colchester manager Steve Whitton has made Stockwell an offer, but the 35-year-old is going to consider this as well as other options over the next few days. Stockwell said: "I have to keep all my options open at this stage. I won't be closing any doors, and Colchester are a club in the shake-up. I'll be training at Layer Road this week. It will be a chance to regain my fitness after the break. Nothing is done and dusted yet. We’ll have to see how things work out." There will be quite a few familiar faces for Mick as Colchester these days is basically an Ipswich veterans team.

No real hard news on the two international players Town have offers in for. No real soft speculation either which is more of a surprise. George Burley is on holiday so expect a quiet week. Presumably, any further negotiations with Richard Wright won't be completed until the manager returns. Still no offers in and Celtic seem to be suggesting that Jonathan Gould is still their number one keeper.

The Bolton players and manager charged by the FA following the second leg of the play-off semi-final are up before the beak today. We should learn the fates of Sam Allardyce, Robbie Elliott, Paul Warhurst and Gudni Bergsson later today. Jim Magilton's hearing is in a few weeks.
