Young Keeper Gray to Train With New Zealand Senior Squad - Ipswich Town News

Young Blues keeper Henry Gray is set to train with the New Zealand first team during the October international break, TWTD understands

Gray joined the Blues on a two-year deal in the summer from New Zealand Central League side Waterside Karori and has featured regularly for Town’s U21s this season.

The 18-year-old isn’t officially in the All Whites squad and won’t take part in the two friendlies during the break but will go as a fourth keeper to take part in their training camp.

Mönchengladbach-born Gray has previously won caps at U19 and U20 levels and was in the New Zealand squad for the FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina this summer but without playing a game.

The All Whites play DR Congo at the Estadio Nueva Condomina in Murcia, Spain on Friday 13th October, then Australia at Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium four days later.

Former Town centre-half Tommy Smith and ex-loanee Chris Wood are in the squad selected by new permanent head coach Darren Bazeley.
