Reports today are indicating that Town could be about to smash their transfer record with a £3.5 million bid for Bolton midfielder Claus Jensen. The Danish U21 international is rumoured to have been admired by George Burley for some while and may well be one of the players the Town manager said he had tabled a bid for last week. The player joined Wanderers from Lyngby in August 1998 after a previous spell with Naestved. He has scored 8 goals in 86 League appearences for Bolton and is 5'10". Town chairman David Sheepshanks refused to rule Jensen out of the running: "It is well known that we are looking to secure further signings and that we have made substantial bids. Sheepshaks was happy to quash yesterday's story suggesting a move for Newcastle midfielder Stephen Glass, so it see!
