Wins for Academy - Ipswich Town News
Both the U17s and U19s were victorious on Saturday morning when they took on Watford at the Hornets' training ground at London Colney.
The U17s enjoyed an afternoon perhaps even more action-packed than the first team's trip to Bramall Lane. After going two goals behind, the Blues went ahead 3-2 before Liam Manning was sent off for two bookable offences.
Then, after Watford had gone 4-3 up, they fought back to score two goals in the final minutes to win 5-4. Liam Craig claimed a hat-trick while Craig Reid and Scott Barron were also on the scoresheet.
The U19s won 2-1 with the goals coming from Dean Bowditch and Sam Morrow. Matt Bloomfield had an effort disallowed.
