No Morrell Interest - Ipswich Town News
Wrexham manager Denis Smith has dismissed suggestions that Town are one of two clubs keeping an eye on striker Andy Morrell. Spurs have also been linked with the Robins' leading scorer.
Smith laughed at the suggestions: "I'm not knocking Andy's chances of playing at a higher level. I hope he does, but there has been no interest in him from either Spurs or Ipswich. If there was interest they would have contacted me.
"John Gorman who is assistant to Glenn Hoddle at Spurs was my assistant at West Brom and he would have rung me direct. And I know the Ipswich boss Joe Royle well enough - in fact I've kicked him plenty of times!"
Even if Town were interested in Morrell a move for him is impossible at present and for some while to come with the Blues currently the subject of a transfer embargo.
