U17s Beaten By Colchester - Ipswich Town News
Town’s U17s were beaten 3-2 by Colchester United in their opening group game in the U17 Professional Development League Cup at Needham Market’s Bloomfields.
The U’s went ahead in the 13th minute when Leo Makatta netted and the Essex side went two goals in front through David Mkrumah on 28.
After the break, Town hit back through Stevy Brouwers (pictured) in the 65th minute, then levelled via Sam Mann on 73.
But two minutes later, Colchester claimed the three points with their third of the game.
The Blues are in a group with the U’s, Leyton Orient and Cambridge United.
Town face the O’s at a venue to be confirmed on Thursday 22nd October, then host Cambridge, again at Bloomfields, on Tuesday 26th November (7pm).
