Keeper Gray Signs New Deal - Ipswich Town News
Young keeper Henry Gray has signed a new contract with the Blues.
New Zealand U20 international Gray, 19, joined Town last summer from New Zealand Central League side Waterside Karori following a trial at the end of the previous campaign. He was previously with A-League club Wellington Phoenix’s reserves.
"Delighted to sign a new deal at Ipswich Town, looking forward to the next step in my footballing journey,” Gray said on Instagram, pictured with the number 41 shirt.
The Mönchengladbach-born keeper, whose initial contract was due to end next summer, has regularly trained with the first team and was recalled from a successful spell on loan at Chelmsford City towards the end of 2023/24 after Cieran Slicker picked up a knock.
"Henry’s having a good season out on loan, he trains with us a lot anyway,” manager Kieran McKenna said at the time.
"And he’s a goalkeeper that we like and he’s back and been involved with us a little bit more this week, and he’ll be with us on Saturday.”
Gray spent time training with the All Whites senior side in October last year and during the summer was an alternate for the New Zealand squad at the Paris Olympics but without being called upon.
