Town Legends in TV Action - Ipswich Town News

Tonight sees the launch of a new Anglia TV series featuring action from East Anglian football's past. Shake, Rattle and Goal is described as "a cocktail of classic clips" and features all the region's sides.

The six-part series, which starts at 11pm this evening, features vintage action from the clubs in the Anglia region along with the appropriate newsreel, fashion clips and music from each era.

Anglia TV's Head of Sport, Kevin Piper says that the archive is packed with excellent stuff: "There's some cracking material, some of which hasn't seen the light of day for years.

"For example, the first programme will feature George Best playing for Dunstable Town.

"The series will also feature a classic interview with a very youthful Bobby Robson on the day he joined Ipswich Town back in the 1960s.

"I'll bet it's not been seen since it was first screened more than 30 years ago.

"The idea is to cover all the clubs in the region, although we might struggle to find Rushden & Diamonds material, given their relatively brief history."

Also featured in the first programme is evocative footage of Ipswich Town's championship winning team of 1962, including a rarely seen interview with Sir Alf Ramsey.
