Town boss Kieran McKenna is delighted with the progress Cameron Humphreys has made during his loan spell with Wycombe Wanderers and says he may well tap up the midfielder for tactical insights ahead of Sunday’s game against Aston Villa.
Humphreys played the final 26 minutes for the Chairboys as the League One side were defeated 2-1 by Villa in the Carabao Cup at Adams Park on Tuesday.
And McKenna was asked whether he had given the 20-yer-old a call to get an insight into Villa’s tactics ahead of Sunday’s game.
"No, but he would give you a good tactical run down, Cameron, so I'll probably make him the first phone call when I leave this room, I hadn't thought of that one!” McKenna smiled.
Humphreys netted his second goal of his time with the Buckinghamshire side in last weekend’s 2-1 home victory over Cambridge United.
"He's doing very well, really happy for him, of course, getting the winning goal last week against Cambridge.
"He was more than ready to go out and play week-in, week-out in senior football. He had a spell of doing that here, he developed so well as a player over the last couple of seasons, a big part of the group and now he's getting the chance to play week-in, week-out.
"We're all happy for him and, of course, keeping a close eye on his games and I'm sure he'll be back in the team this weekend and looking to keep going.”
