U21s in Portman Road Action Against Hornets - Ipswich Town News

Town’s U21s are in Professional Development League Two South action against Watford at Portman Road this evening under the ground’s new floodlights (KO 7pm).

The floodlights underwent an upgrade over the summer after promotion to the Premier League. Tonight’s match is the first evening fixture at Portman Road this season.

The match, which is being shown live on TownTV with former midfielder Tristan Nydam providing co-commentary, is the first of three U21s games scheduled to be played at the Blues’ main stadium followed by the Brentford match on Thursday 24th October - a move from the Tuesday of that week due to the Bees being in cup action - and the visit by AFC Bournemouth on Monday 4th November.

The Town youngsters, who are coached by John McGreal and David Wright, are currently fifth in PDL2 South with the Hornets three places and one point behind them.

Season ticket holders will be admitted free on presentation of a complimentary ticket, which can be downloaded here rather than by presenting their season ticket as in previous years.

Otherwise, adult admission is £5, seniors 65-plus concessions are £3 and under-23s will be charged £3. Tickets will be available in advance here until kick-off with entry on the turnstiles available by card only.

Fans will be housed in Block VU3 of the Cobbold Stand with both regular seating and safe standing options available.

Wheelchair/ambulant users can purchase tickets in Block VA via the ticket office, which is open from 6pm, in person.

Meanwhile, Town’s U18s are in friendly action away against West Ham United today.
