Blues Quartet Could Add to Caps - Ipswich Town News

Wes Burns, Nathan Broadhead, Liam Delap and Omari Hutchinson could all add to their international caps later today.

Burns, 29, and 26-year-old Broadhead are with the Wales squad which faces Iceland in a Nations League tie in Reykjavik (KO 7.45pm, live on S4C).

The duo are in a party picked by new manager Craig Bellamy for the first time having missed September’s internationals due to injury.

Burns, who has been given the number 20 shirt, has previously won eight full caps and Broadhead, who will as usual will wear the Wales number 23, has played 12 times, scoring two international goals. Former Blues loanee Kieffer Moore is also in the squad, as is Brennan Johnson, son of ex-Town striker David.

Wales, who are currently second in Group B4, take on Montenegro at the Cardiff City Stadium on Monday.

Delap and Hutchinson are with the England U21s, who face Ukraine at Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium in a European Championship qualifier (KO 7.45pm).

Town’s four-goal Premier League top scorer Delap, 21, will be looking to add to his seven U21s caps and one goal at that level.

Hutchinson has previously been capped by England at U17 and U19 levels, but made two senior appearances for Jamaica in friendlies.

The 20-year-old subsequently turned down calls from both the Reggae Boyz and England and last season said he was weighing-up his international options.

He ultimately opted to switch back to England and was named in the U21s squad for the first time last month before pulling out with a minor injury.

The Young Lions are second in the group behind Ukraine, who beat them 3-2 in the sides’ first meeting a year ago. Tonight’s game is live on England’s YouTube channel.

The England youngsters are in action again on Tuesday when they host Azerbaijan at Ashton Gate.

Elsewhere, academy striker Ash Boatswain, 19, played the first 75 minutes and won his third Montserrat cap last night as the Emerald Boyz beat Bonaire 1-0 in a CONCACAF Nations League game Arnos Vale in St Vincent. The sides meet again at the same venue on Sunday.
