Wardley Knocks Out Clarke in First Round - Ipswich Town News

Fabio Wardley sensationally knocked out Frazer Clarke in the first round of their eagerly anticipated rematch in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia this evening.

The first fight in March ended in a draw and was immediately hailed as a classic, but this time the Ipswich-born Town supporter had little trouble in dispatching Clarke and retaining his British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles, knocking him out in two minutes and 22 seconds of the first round.

"I said I've got power in each hand and if I hurt someone then I can get rid of them,” Wardley told DAZN afterwards.

"I went into that first fight with a couple of issues, we got them fixed up, got the gameplan right and executed on the night.

"Sometimes war is needed and sometimes brains are needed. I said in all interviews that I had success but we needed to be a little bit sweeter. I can't help it, war by name and war by nature. Once I have my enemies hurt, there's no help for them unless the bell rings.

"These belts look great but I want some that say 'world' on them. Whoever has them we have to come back here. There's something in the air over here, it gives me an extra buzz. Whenever they want me back, I'll be straight back over.”
