Everton manager David Moyes was amongst a number of scouts watching Town against Wolves with Darren Bent reported to be his target.
Moyes is apparently keen on making Bent Wayne Rooney's strike partner and could make a £3 million bid for the 19-year-old in the summer.
Town's current financial plight appears to have alerted several clubs to what they will be hoping will be bargain buys, Charlton's Alan Curbishley, keen on Martijn Reuser in the summer, also present.
