Academy Full-Back McCann in Northern Ireland U17s - Ipswich Town News

Academy left-back Darragh McCann has been named in the Northern Ireland U17s squad for their European Championship qualifying mini-group games this week.

McCann, 16, joined the Blues in the summer from Belfast club Glentoran’s academy, signing a three-year deal.

The Northern Irish youngsters are hosting Scotland, the Republic of Ireland and Lithuania with all three of their games at the Seaview Stadium in Belfast.

They open against Scotland on Tuesday, then take on the Republic on Friday and the Lithuanians next Monday.

Town U18s forward Sid Eldred missed out on a call due to injury. Both players have previously won Northern Ireland caps at U16 level.
