Fisher Wins Cap But Young Lionesses Defeated - Ipswich Town News
Ipswich Town Women’s striker Issy Fisher came on as a late sub as England’s U17s were beaten 3-0 by Spain in an U17 Women's World Cup semi-final in the Dominican Republic overnight.
Fisher came on as a 97th-minute substitute as the Young Lionesses sought to get back into the game at 2-0 only to concede a third goal in the 99th minute.
The 17-year-old, who joined Town on duel registration terms from Arsenal in the summer, was winning her 18th cap at U17 level.
England will play the US in the competition’s third/fourth play-off on Sunday.
