Away Days Says Goodbye With Beer Pack Dedicated to Town Legends - Ipswich Town News

The Away Days Beer Company is launching what’s almost certainly its final ever product aimed at Town fans for Christmas.

Away Days is a football-themed beer company which was started by Town supporter and TWTD Forum poster Josh Bartlett in 2018.

In the last six years, Josh has produced beers dedicated to Town players and managers as well as figures from throughout the wider world of football.

However, Josh, who ran Away Days in addition to his day job, now has new responsibilities which mean he’s no long able to continue.

"It’s with a heavy heart to say Away Days will be coming to an end this year,” he told TWTD.

"I’ve endeavoured to keep it going via outsourcing elements of the business but between the day job and now being a dad, it’s become increasingly hard to balance my time and keep Away Days going to the high standards I want it run.

"I launched Away Days when ITFC were in a dark place, it was a chance to link up with fans and put a smile on their face with tongue-in-cheek beer names. TWTD was actually where I first started my market research to hear peoples thoughts and names for beers.

"From that, it evolved into more than I ever imagined, giving me memories to last a lifetime, such as seeing the beers in the hands of football legends like Chris Kamara, Terry Butcher, Peter Schmeichel and Alan Shearer, to helping raise funds for The Beat statue and for Marcus Stewart for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation. It’s been a rollercoaster of a journey and one I’d do all over again.

"Away Days has come so far, and rather than just close up shop, I’ve had more than 700 people ask us to roll out one last product, just in time for Christmas and one especially for Town fans.

"With that in mind, I am excited to announce Away Days is to launch an ITFC Legends XI beer pack.

"The pack features 11 players and one manager from the last 60 years at ITFC, each donning a variety of three iconic kits.

"Inside the can is a brand new 4.4% lager beer never before featured in the Away Days range, which I’m confident will be enjoyed by all beer fans and even more so whilst watching the Towen on the box.

"The pack is available now at www.awaydaysbeer.com and all orders will be dispatched for delivery between 2nd and 13th December, so they’re with people in time for Christmas. Please note, this will be the only product available on the website, our other beers will no longer be available.

"I cannot thank everyone enough for all your support the last six years, without you Away Days wouldn’t have achieved the things it has and I hope it’ll leave a small legacy in the ITFC history books.

"There is a slim chance Away Days may continue under new ownership, but if it doesn’t, here’s to you ITFC fans, we’ve finally got our club back where it deserves to be, so cheers to that and cheers to you.”
