O'Shea and Szmodics in Ireland Squad - Ipswich Town News

Town duo Dara O’Shea and Sammie Szmodics have been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for their final UEFA Nations League group games.

Ireland, who are currently third in Group B2, host Finland on Thursday 14th November and then take on England at Wembley on the following Sunday.

O’Shea has previously won 30 caps, playing at right-back since Heimir Hallgrímsson took over as boss in the summer, and Szmodics eight.

Blues duo Chiedozie Ogbene and Jack Taylor would have been included but are currently out injured.

Also in the squad is former Town loan defender Mark McGuinness, these days with Luton.

Elsewhere, former Blues midfielder Idris El Mizouni has been named in the Tunisia squad for their November internationals.

The 24-year-old, now with Oxford United, won his only senior cap while with Town back in 2019.
