Milton Recovering at Home After Medical Emergency - Ipswich Town News

Former Blues midfielder Simon Milton is recovering at home having been taken unwell in the directors’ box during this afternoon’s game against AFC Bournemouth.

Milton, 61, was attended to in the directors’ box, which was evacuated, before being taken to hospital.

An earlier statement confirmed that a medical emergency had taken place but without naming who was involved.

Now a new statement confirms it was Milton, who works in hospitality along with a number of other ex-players on a matchday, and that he has been allowed to return home.

"We can confirm that Simon Milton fell unwell during Sunday’s Premier League fixture at home to AFC Bournemouth and was taken to hospital,” it reads.

"Simon is now stable and communicating. He is in good spirits and will head home to rest.

"He would like to thank the first responders at Portman Road and those that have passed on their best wishes. At this time we ask everyone to respect the privacy of Simon and his family.”
