U18s in Youth Cup Action at Bournemouth - Ipswich Town News
Town’s U18s are in FA Youth Cup third-round action against AFC Bournemouth at Eastleigh’s Silverlake Stadium this evening (KO 7pm).
The young Blues, who currently have David Wright in temporary charge following Olly Lee’s departure for Norwich’s U21s, were beaten 3-2 by the Cherries in a PDL2 South game at Playford Road last month, Ashton Boswell and George Chenery having netted the Town goals.
Admission is £3 for adults and £2 for concessions on the gate, payment by card only.
The Blues will be hoping to progress further than last year when they were beaten 2-1 at home by Swansea in the third round.
The previous season, the U18s reached the quarter-finals before unluckily losing 4-2 after-extra-time to West Ham United at Portman Road having been reduced to 10 men.
Town have won the competition on three occasions, in 1973, 1975 and 2005.
