U21s Host Colchester, Town XI in Premier Cup Action at Leiston - Ipswich Town News

Town’s U21s are in action against Colchester United in Professional Development League Two South at Playford Road this afternoon (KO 1pm), while a Blues XI is facing Leiston at the Watson & Hillhouse Stadium in the Suffolk Premier Cup this evening (KO 7.45pm).

John McGreal’s side are currently seventh in PDL2 South (below) having lost 3-0 at Millwall a week ago. The U’s, where McGreal was first-team manager between 2016 and 2020, are bottom of the table having taken only five points from their 11 games.

On Saturday, the Blues’ U18s were beaten 3-1 by Millwall at Playford Road, Afi Adebayo, making his first appearance after five months out, netting from the spot in the second half, the Lions having taken a three-goal lead in the first.

Many of the U18s, who are currently being run by David Wright following Ollie Lee’s exit for a role with Norwich’s U21s, are set to be involved this evening when a Blues XI takes on Southern League Premier Division Central Leiston in the quarter-finals of the Suffolk Premier Cup.
