American tycoon Stephen Schecter, the man who lent Town the £25 million, 25-year bond, says he is confident that he will get his money back.
The bond is the Blues' biggest debt and will be paid back yearly based on ticket sales. The bond was organised through Lazard's while Schecter was their managing director.
The 57-year-old says that his money will be paid back out of gate receipts: "Season ticket holders and casual supporters pay to watch the club play, they use the stands and that money goes into a pot."
Schecter feels that Town and chairman David Sheepshanks have been victims of a situation beyond their control: "They've had a raw deal. There is no way in hell that David or any other chairman could have done anything about circumstances.
"ITV Digital reneged on their contract. No one could have forseen that. If commitments had been honoured this situation would not have arisen."
