TWTD Lose Match - Ipswich Town News
A TWTD XI were somewhat dismally defeated 8-0 by Canary Corner in a fans' match held on Saturday as a precursor to Sunday's real, proper derby.
The Blues side, already weakened by a number of injuries was further hit when the team's two full-backs failed to make the game when the police (Suffolk Police! I ask you!) slapped a GV9 Prohibition Order on their van on the way up to the ground.
TWTD suffered badly from this loss and even had to employ a hopelessly out of his depth Phil Ham as an emergency left-back, although he was swiftly removed from the defence with the words 'liability' and 'Bramble' ringing in his ears.
The Norfolk side were the classier throughout and deservedly won the game, ironically in total contrast to the real thing a day later.
