Cunha Banned For Two Games and Fined For Town Melee - Ipswich Town News
Wolves forward Matheus Cunha has been banned for two matches and fined £80,000 following his role in the melee after Town’s 2-1 victory at Molineux earlier this month.
Cunha was pictured elbowing a member of the Town security staff in the back of the head and then removing his glasses and shoving him in the face in a fracas at the end of the match which also led to his teammate Rayan Aït-Nouri being shown a second yellow card and Liam Delap picking up his fifth booking of the season, which saw him miss the game against Newcastle.
The FA charged the Brazilian with misconduct and that he had acted in an improper manner, a charge he admitted with an independent regulatory commission imposing the two-game ban, which will see him miss the Premier League match against Nottingham Forest and FA Cup tie with Bristol City. Written reasons are set to be published in due course.
