Wednesday Eyeing Clarke - Ipswich Town News

Blues right-back Harry Clarke is understood to be on Sheffield Wednesday’s January radar

Rumours suggesting Owls interest in the 23-year-old began circulating on the TWTD Forum yesterday and the Sheffield Star is now reporting that Wednesday are among a number of Championship clubs eyeing the former Arsenal academy youngster.

It would be little surprise if Town were to allow Clarke out on loan for the remainder of the season with the recruitment of Ben Godfrey from Atalana for the remainder of the campaign having added to the right-sided defensive options.

The Ipswich-born, Brantham-raised defender has made four starts and three sub appearances during 2024/25 having been a regular during the Championship promotion season and the second half of the previous campaign as the Blues finished second in League One, having rejoined his boyhood club from the Gunners in the January.

Elsewhere, West Ham have sacked manager Julen Lopetegui after six months in charge with former Brighton and Chelsea boss Graham Potter, who was once interviewed for the Town job, expected to succeed him.
