A young Town reserves side lost 2-1 at Southampton last night. There were few senior players facing a Saints line-up featuring a number of players with Premiership experience.
Town went ahead after ten minutes when Nabil Abidallah used his pace before beating Paul Jones.
The Saints hit back with two late goals from substitute Scott McDonald to clinch the points.
Town's next reserve fixture is at home to Wimbledon at Playford Road next Wednesday afternoon (KO 2pm).
