Edmundson Recalled From Boro Loan - Ipswich Town News

Town have recalled centre-half George Edmundson from his loan spell at Middlesbrough the clubs still to agree a fee regarding a permanent switch, TWTD understands.

As reported last week, the Blues rejected an offer of £350,000 plus a further £350,000 if the Teessiders are promoted and add-ons last week.

A subsequent bid of £500,000 plus £350,000 if Boro go up and further add-ons has also been rejected and the clubs have been unable to come to an agreement before the recall date in Edmundson’s loan deal.

Boro will not now be able to field the former Rangers man against Tony Mowbray’s West Brom this evening.

The 27-year-old, who is out of contract with Town in the summer, can't move to another club during this window having already played for the Blues and Boro this season.

If the clubs are unable to agree a deal before the window closes, then it seems likely Town would be stuck continuing to pay his wages for the remainder of the season with the one-time Oldham youngster almost certainly left out of the 25-man squad and unavailable for selection, before departing on a free in the summer.
