Academy Duo in Northern Ireland U17s - Ipswich Town News

Academy duo Darragh McCann and Sid Eldred have been named in the Northern Ireland U17s squad for a tournament in Spain next week.

The Norwegian FA has organised the four-team competition at La Nucia, near Alicante in Spain.

The Northern Irish are using the games as preparation for the Euro 2025 elite qualifiers in March.

They first face Poland next Thursday, then Norway on the Saturday and finally Sweden on the following Monday.

Left-back McCann (above), 16, who joined Town from Glentoran last summer, has previously won his first U17 caps earlier in the season having previously played internationally at U15 and U16 levels.

Forward Eldred (below), who is from Brentwood in Essex, missed out on calls earlier this season, also having U16s caps previously.
