Burley Denies More Rumours - Ipswich Town News

Town manager George Burley has denied press reportes that he has made a £1 million offer for Colchester's Lomano Tresor Lua-Lua. He has also refuted stories linking him with Rosenborg midfielder Orjan Berg. Town fans are increasingly worried at the lack of movement on the transfer front, although George Burley has said he is anxious to spend some of his kitty, rumoured in some places to be £6 million, although it could possibly be even more. Certainly Richard Wright committing himself to the club means that nothing will have to be spent on a new keeper. The manager has said, however, that he will only spend on the correct players for the team, not just spend for the sake of it.

John McGreal missed Saturday's 2-2 draw at Heybridge as his baby son Max was ill. Town's line-up at Scraley Road included trialist Tom English (released by Arsenal) as well as several unfamiliar reserve and youth players. Star of the show was Nabil Abidallah who set up both goals. Full side: Salmon (Pullen 46), Artun, J Miller, Nicholls, Mowbray, Venus (Moffat 55), Abidallah (English 80), Niven, Logan (A Miller 74), Midgley and Friars (Daly 70).
