Sereni's Brescia Win - Ipswich Town News

On loan keeper Matteo Sereni's Brescia continued their fine recent form with a 3-0 win against Atalanta. Roberto Baggio ran the show and scored the second Rondinelle goal.

Brescia are now ninth in Serie A, eight points off relegation but may not be able to afford the undisclosed fee agreed with Town should they decide they want him after his loan spell.

TWTD understands that they are due to make their decision by the end of April, although Sereni's loan period lasts until June 30th.

If Brescia aren't interested in a long-term move then it is likely that another Italian side may be interested, although given the current nature of the transfer market a significant fee may not be forthcoming.

Town's other loanee, French winger Ulrich Le Pen, was a 90th minute substitute for Strasbourg as they drew 1-1 with Lens. The former Lorient player is keen to join Strasbourg permanently when his loan is up in June, a fee having been agreed last summer, although as with Brescia they may not be in a position to afford the previously arranged fee.
