Magilton OK for Pompey - Ipswich Town News
Midfielder Jim Magilton will be OK for Friday's home clash with promoted Portsmouth. The Northern Irishman was replaced in the second half of Saturday's 4-2 drubbing of Coventry as a precaution after missing training last week with a groin strain.
Manager Joe Royle told the club site: "Jim's fine, no worries. When we got to 3-2 at Coventry I decided to take him off, but his last kick of the game was setting up Marcus Bent for the fourth.
"We just took him off to conserve his energy and make sure he was right for Friday against Portsmouth."
Richard Naylor, substituted with a twisted knee at Highfield Road, will be assessed on Thursday before any decision is made on his fitness.
