Westlake Out for Season - Ipswich Town News
Young midfielder Ian Westlake is out for the rest of the season after picking up a medial ligament injury during last Friday's 3-0 win against Portsmouth. The 19-year-old was a late replacement for Martijn Reuser and acquired the knock in his first challenge after coming on.
Westlake has impressed as a sub of late and Joe Royle is disappointed to lose him: "Westy has done very well and forced his way into the first team with some very good performances in the reserves lately. He is unlucky with his injury but thankfully it is not as bad as John McGreal's medial ligament damage so he will be back for pre-season.
"I have been very pleased with him and he is in the notebook for next season."
Westlake has been replaced in today's squad by Nabil Abidallah.
Town squad: Abidallah, Armstrong, M Bent, Bowditch, Couñago, Gaardsøe, Holland, Makin, Magilton, Marshall, Miller, Pullen, Reuser, Richards, Wilnis and Wright.
