Wright Signing Confirmed - Ipswich Town News
Richard Wright today scrawled his name across a contract bringing to an end months and weeks of discussion, rows, speculation, intrigue and eventually boredom.
Apparently the sticking point this week was over a big club release clause. Wright and agent Jonathan Barnett wanted one and the club didn't. We're not sure of the outcome of this but I presume we'll find out in the next few days.
Town manager George Burley said: "Clearly I am pleased to have secured Richard. He is a young player of tremendous professionalism and skill.
"Richard has proven first team and international experience for such a young player. These attributes will be invaluable to our team as we compete in the forthcoming season in the Premier League."
Wright added:"I am absolutely delighted that everything is sorted out and now I can fully concentrate on a very important season with Ipswich Town in the Premier League."
