Reserves Win - Ipswich Town News

Town's reserves ended their season with a 3-0 away win at Coventry City on Tuesday night. The second string was once more almost entirely made up of academy players.

Midfielder Antonio Murray scored the first and impressed the watching Joe Royle with Dean Bowditch and Craig Reid adding the other goals.

Alun Armstrong and Nabil Abidallah, given free transfers by the club at the end of last week, were both involved. Abidallah is set to join Swiss side FC Thun on trial soon.

Centre-half Aidan Collins, who will probably be involved at Derby on Sunday, played alongside an impressive trialist, Steve Towers from Oadby Town.

A knee injury to Matt Bloomfield was the only sour note, the midfielder having to be stretchered off after a heavy tackle.

Reserves: Lewis Price, Scott Mitchell, Lee Chaffey, Antonio Murray, Aidan Collins, Stephen Towers, Nabil Abidallah, Matt Bloomfield, Alun Armstrong, Dean Bowditch and Stuart Boardley. Subs: Daniel Flack, Scott Peat, Chris Hogg, Craig Reid, Scott Barron.
