Dean in England Draw - Ipswich Town News
Town striker Dean Bowditch and the rest of the England U17s came back from 2-0 down to draw with Spain in Vila Real on Sunday afternoon. The England side are now through to a semi-final against hosts Portugal on Wednesday.
At half-time it looked like Bowditch would be on his way home with Spain two-goals up and Italy, also in the running for a semi-final place, beating Israel also by two goals. The Italians ended up 4-0 winners.
However, second half goals from Steven Taylor and James Milner put John Peacock's side back on terms. Bowditch was again in the starting line-up and came close to a winning goal when the Spanish keeper almost re-enacted Bryan Gunn's finest Portman Road moment.
Should England beat Portugal they will go through to next Saturday's final where they will face either Austria or once again come up against Spain.
