Joe in Target Talks - Ipswich Town News

Town manager Joe Royle says he has already been in talks with clubs regarding players he aims to sign once the Blues have their transfer embargo removed in June. The club hope to have the ban lifted at a Football League board meeting on June 4th.

Royle says that between now and then supporters can do their bit towards helping the club by buying season tickets.

The Town boss told the club site: "There is still a lot of work to be done before we come out of administration and every fan that buys a season ticket or a debenture is playing an important part in us achieving that goal.

"You've heard the saying 'your country needs you', well this is 'your Town needs you'.

"Hopefully, with the supporters help, we will be given clearance to start dealing in the transfer market again in June and everything is in place for us to move forward.

"We have been speaking to clubs about a new goalkeeper and a new central defender. We have identified targets and we are ready to make our move. All we need is the green light next month."

Out-of-contract defender Drissa Diallo is one player that Royle has admitted targeting but he will face competition from Burnley who he played for in the latter stages of 2002/03.
