Too Many Games - Joe - Ipswich Town News
Town boss Joe Royle has said he is concerned at the number of international games being played. Royle was speaking in the wake of Darren Bent receiving an England U21s call for a training camp in Sardinia ahead of games against Serbia and Montenegro and Slovakia.
Royle was happy for Bent but can understand managers like David Moyes being worried about the amount of football some of their players are involved in: "It is getting harder for international players. It is non-stop for them and there is a worry about burn-out, especially for younger players.
"On the one hand the FA say there are too many games, then we have all these internationals. It is not easy and I do have sympathy for people like David and his situation with Wayne Rooney."
