Reports indicate that Arsenal may be the Blues' opposition in the home pre-season friendly scheduled for Friday, August 1st.

In recent years the club has faced continental sides in their final warm-up prior to the season proper, although they came up against the Gunners just before the start of the 1996/97 season in John Wark's testimonial.

Fulham are also mentioned as possible opposition if Arsene Wenger's men can't make it.
