FA Refute Confirmation - Ipswich Town News

The FA have refuted a report which claims they have confirmed the England friendly with Croatia, scheduled for Portman Road. The story said the game would be on August 19th, one day before we understand it is actually set to take place.

A spokesman for the FA told TWTD that they are not commenting on either the date nor the venue of the game, and have merely announced that there is an "intention to play Croatia at some point in the future."

A further FA announcement regarding the match is expected in the next few days.

TWTD reported earlier in the week that confirmation that the game would take place at Portman Road on August 20th is imminent.

The media in Croatia is widely reporting that Portman Road will be the match's venue on that date while Town continue to remain tight-lipped, presumably at the behest of the FA.

As with all England games at club grounds, there will be no special provision for Town supporters to buy tickets. All seats will be sold through Ticketmaster.
