Kachloul Wants to Fight for Place - Ipswich Town News

Southampton midfielder Hassan Kachloul has spoken about why he has turned down the opportunity to join Town. The Moroccan said: "I was told last night that the clubs had agreed a fee but I don't want to leave - I just want to play for Southampton. I have a lot of respect for them and for the fans and I like it here. I don't want to say anything against Ipswich because I have heard nothing but good things about them but it was not the right move for me. I will be at Derby at the beginning of the season and will continue to do my best for Southampton and will be as committed as I have always been." Town manager George Burley must be disappointed that a second - as far as we know - player has turned down the chance to join the Blues but said: "I spoke to the player at length last night to try and talk him into coming. He was very apologetic and has heard nothing but good things about Ipswich but he decided to stay with Southampton and fight for his place."
