Joe Confirms Diallo Move - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Joe Royle has confirmed that he hopes to make Guinean international central defender Drissa Diallo his first signing once the Blues' transfer embargo is lifted. TWTD reported earlier today that 30-year-old is set to become Royle's first Town signing.

Royle told the club site: "I have been in discussions with Drissa for a while now and would love to make him my first signing here.

"He is a powerful defender, strong in the air and as brave as they come and is just what we need after conceding too many goals last season."

The out-of-contract ex-Mechelen player has also been offered a deal by Burnley where he spent time last season.

Town are likely to get their Football League 'share' back on Wednesday at a League board meeting. After that the Blues are free to bring players in, although, as with all clubs recently in administration, the League will pay particular attention to any deals done.
