Holland to Pompey? - Ipswich Town News
A number of newspapers are reporting that Matt Holland is a £1 million target for newly promoted Portsmouth. Harry Redknapp's club were first reported to be interested in the Town skipper last month.
Portsmouth are keen to strengthen their squad ahead of their Premiership season with Redknapp targeting players experienced in the top flight. He said after Town beat his side 3-0 in April that there were a number of Town players who could become his targets.
Holland is currently away with Ireland and has always looked likely to leave Portman Road for the Premiership this summer. A London club appeared his most probable destination, however the south coast may appeal as he spent time living there when at Bournemouth and his wife is from the area.
The Cherries will keep an eye on developments as they are set to receive 25% of anything the Blues receive above the £800,000 they paid for Holland in 1997.
