Released veteran defender Mark Venus is set to talk to Cambridge United about a move to the Abbey Stadium. The 36-year-old is out of contract at the end of June and has not been offered a new deal at Portman Road.
The former Wolves man is also claimed to be interested in a possible switch to Hartlepool as assistant to Tony Mowbray who is understood to want the manager's position at Victoria Park.
