Announce Website Update - Ipswich Town News

As the new season creeps up on us the TWTD site has undergone an extensive change. We have gone into partnership with Rivals.net which we hope will be a mutually beneficial arrangement. TWTD will continue to provide the NewsNet service as we have for a couple of years now, as well as keeping all the other features which we've run for some while. We have also added to the site and plan several other areas of development, many of which will need input from visitors if they are to work properly.

Rivals will provide us with several advantages over the situation we had before. Webspace has become an increasing expense as the site has got busier, this will not now be a problem. They also give us access to a large selection of photos with quite a number available soon after the end of each game. We still have editorial control over all our content, without this we would not have joined the network. We will also have some income from the site for the first time, which should give us the ability to get more issues of the fanzine out per season.

We have been getting loads of emails from networks and sites wanting us to join them. This has happened for the last two years, and we have said no to every one, until Rivals came along. They offered us the opportunity to continue doing exactly what we've been doing, but with advantages and enhancements. We have also looked at getting our own advertising which proved impractical or impossible depending on which way we tried to obtain it.

Coming up in the near future we have a number of things that might be of interest to you. Photos of every Ipswich match in the Premier League, prediction leagues, rate the ref, match ratings, columnists, online gambling, fast match reports, the entire archive of TWTD, full statistics, pub and club reviews... the list is growing, and we'd like you to add your suggestions on what you would like to see on the site.

Have a look at the new site, currently still in a state of construction and read an extract from the David Sheepshanks interview which will appear in the next issue of the fanzine, out for the Manchester United game.
