Hreidarsson Deal Confirmed - Ipswich Town News

Town have confirmed that they have signed Hermann Hreidarsson from Wimbledon at a cost thought to be something around the £4.5 - £5 million.

The deal breaks Town's record transfer fee, the £2.75 million paid to Huddersfield for Marcus Stewart. Hreidarsson, who played against Town for Brentford last season, and his agent met with David Sheepshanks and George Burley last night and personal terms were agreed. The Icelandic international will undergo a medical on his return from international duty in Iceland.

David Sheepshanks has spoken of his regret at the misery of those unlucky enough not to get season tickets. He also defended the method the club used allocate the tickets, adding that the system was by no means perfect: "Of course, there are anomalies, one of which is that we cannot identify regular supporters who have paid by cash in the past." Sadly this will be of little comfort to those who missed out.

Saturday's star Titus Bramble has revealed that he is planning to swap shirts with his boyhood hero Sol Campbell after Saturday's game at White Hart Lane.
