Former Town star and TWTD columnist Simon Milton says he's looking forward to crossing swords with some old Norwich foes when the two clubs meet in the Masters on Sunday.
Town's over-35s reached the finals last season after winning a London heat where Milton was named Player of the Tournament and Jason Dozzell was top scorer.
Milton says he is hoping for more of the same at the Coventry Sky Dome Arena on Sunday afternoon (Sky Sports 2, 3pm): "Jason scored a lot of goals last year and we won that and got to the final. It was great fun and I hope we do as well this time."
This year's tournament sees the Masters debut of Micky Stockwell while the rest of the squad is much the same as played last summer.
Town will face Leicester and Coventry but the first appearance in Masters Football of Norwich City is probably the most eagerly awaited of the games.
Milton says that the Town side have learnt that the Norwich squad have been employing some underhand tactics: "I spoke to Putters who has been speaking to Bryan Gunn and apparently Norwich have been training! That's illegal, nobody does that!
"I'm considering bringing it to the attention of the authorities on Sunday. Training!? I ask you, they're obviously taking it a bit seriously.
"The game itself will have all the blood and thunder of a regular derby but we'll all meet up afterwards in the bar back at the hotel."
Simon is hoping to get Gunn involved in a charity project being planned for next season: "I'm going to ask Gunny for a favour while we're there. I'm planning to do a sponsored walk to raise money for a friend who is involved in a cancer charity. The idea to coincide with one of the Ipswich-Norwich games next season and I'd like to get him interested."
Aside from Gunn there are a number other Portman Road anti-heroes in the Norwich side amongst them Dean Gordon and Jeremy Goss.
Perhaps one of the more surprising inclusions in the Canary squad is Robert Fleck. Apparently a number of players are concerned that the sheer surface area the bounce-about striker might take up during games may make football almost impossible.
Should Town repeat their success of last year they will go through to the Grand Final which will be played at the Telewest Arena, Newcastle
on September 7th.
