French Defender Linked - Ipswich Town News
French reports are linking Town with 31-year-old Nantes defender Nicolas Laspalles. The left or right-sided full-back is out of contract and spent the second half of last season on loan at Italian club Lecce.
The Serie B side gained promotion but Laspalles has not been offered a permanent deal. He is understood to want to remain in Italy, however former club Guingamp, Birmingham City and Town are all reported to have approached the player regarding his availability.
Laspelles was with Guingamp between 1993 and 1998 before moving on to Lens for a short spell. From there he joined Paris St Germain for two seasons. In 2000 he switched to Nantes, leaving for Lecce on loan in January.
