No Miss for Driss - Ipswich Town News
New Town signing Drissa Diallo will not miss out on pre-season training to play in an African Nations Cup qualifier. The Guinean international has given Joe Royle an assurance that he will not be involved in international football while with the Blues.
Royle says he looked into the Mauritania-born player's intentions prior to completing the deal: "This is something I checked with Drissa before signing him. He has told me he will not be involved in international football and will focus completely on Ipswich Town.
"He will be away next week as he had already arranged to be married in Guinea on July 5th, but he will be back on the following Monday so he only misses a few days."
The Town squad return of pre-season training on July 2nd. Diallo, Darren Bent and Dean Bowditch have all been given permission to return late.
