Trust Launch Meeting - Ipswich Town News

Ipswich Town Ist (Ipswich Town Independent Supporters Trust) are celebrating their official launch with an open meeting in the Gainsborough Suite at the Novotel on Thursday, July 10th (7.30pm).

The launch is open to all and will be attended by former stars Kevin Beattie, the man named as the club's greatest ever player by supporters, and FA Cup final scorer Roger Osborne.

The pair, along with other ex-players, feature in a short film made especially for the occasion, while several other stars of the past are backing the fans' group, amongst them John Wark, Russell Osman, Jason Cundy, Laurie Sivell, John Scales and James Scowcroft.

The Trust aims to unite and empower supporters and will be looking to purchase a stake in the club via the share issue planned for later in the year. It also hopes to gain supporter-elected representation on the board of Ipswich Town. It has already attracted a great deal of interest from fans still concerned at the club's current financial position.

The launch meeting will give supporters a chance to hear more about how a Trust works and to get involved in its running.
