Tickets to the England-Croatia international to be held at Portman Road on Wednesday, August 20th sold out in two-and-a-half hours.
Seats for the game, the first full England match to be played in East Anglia, went on sale at 10am on Sunday. Internet tickets sold out in around an hour with phone sales ending by 1.30pm.
An FA spokesman said: "This highlights the huge attraction of the England team.
"It's the first time the national team has played in Ipswich and we're sure everybody who's been fortunate enough to secure a ticket will have a wonderful evening."
Just 19,000 tickets from Portman Road's 30,305 capacity were available to fans attempting to obtain seats via Ticketmaster, the FA's ticketing partner.
